Location

Noordhoek is one of Cape Town’s best kept secrets – set in the foothills of Table Mountain, below the famous Chapman’s Peak Drive. Noordhoek Beach Villa is a short walk from 6 kms of pristine beach which is popular for surfing, walking, kite-surfing and horse riding. The beach is West facing so every evening offers a spectacular sunset best watched from the upstairs lounge and large deck which offers panoramic views of the beach, mountain and valley.

Restaurants and Shopping

A short walk from the house (400 m) takes you to The Red Herring Trading Centre www.theredherring.co.za , a complex with various quaint shops tucked between the indigenous Milkwood trees, where you will find:

  • Red Herring restaurant (offering great take away pizzas and a playground for the little ones)
  • A Sunset deck and a Courtyard with playground
  • art gallery and an arts and crafts centre
  • a small brewery with local craft beers and live music
  • a wonderful local hairdresser and a health and beauty centre and gift shop.
  • and last but not least: The Dark Horse, a easy living restaurant offering fantastic breakfast, health lunches and dinner under the shady trees.

A few minutes drive away the Noordhoek Farm Village www.thefarmvillage.co.za is remounted for offering a relaxed family friendly atmosphere. The village is an increasingly trendy complex of traditional white Cape Dutch style homes which thatched roofs which are converted into a wonderful selection of restaurants, cafe’s, deli, wine cellars, art and gift shops, health and beauty centre and information centre, all centred around a green lawn with bandstand.

The Noordhoek Farm Village is a great place for morning coffee, lunch and dinner:

  • Cafe Roux offers exceptional cuisine with a large terrace where you can often enjoy live music, great for breakfast or lunch.
  • Don’t miss ‘the toad in the village’, which is a new pub and restaurant owned by the famous Springbok rugby player Bobby Skinstadt.
  • For fine dining in a casual setting, we highly recommend the wonderful cuisine of award winning chef Franck Dangereux, who owns and runs The Foodbarn restaurant in the farm village. We are very proud to have this internationally renowned restaurant situated in our little village. As Time Magazine boasts: “The… best value fine dining on the continent, if not anywhere… No longer dangereux to your wallet, but lethal to the notion that haute cuisine has to be haughty.”, which recently drew the attention of Leonardi Di Caprio.
  • The Foodbarn has a separate deli that oozes fresh farm style food throughout the day where you can also enjoy delicious breakfast and lunches
  • Kristen's Kick-Ass Ice Cream Shop. The ice Cream is handmade in small batches using local dairy and the highest quality ingredients
  • The village Roast: Roasting the best coffee beans in the Deep South. You become addicted!
  • Village Sushi
  • Faithjuice, a unique, quirky raw juice bar offering healthy, delicious veg and fruit juices and yummy smoothies.

Jakes On The Common nestles at the foot of Chapman's Peak Drive overlooking our Common, a lovely spot not only for the horses.
The restaurant is stylishly decorated with comfortable furnishings and plenty of detail and a outdoor spots.
